Osteoporosis is a disease that bone mineral content is reduced and risk of fragility fracture increases. In this paper, we carry out the development of a segmentation method of phalanges regions from CR images of the hand to perform a quantitative evaluation of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoporosis. We applied our method on three pairs of CR temporal images of phalanges regions, which are called as the previous images and the current images. We got the segmentation results of 5.95 [%] of false-positive rate and 92.9 [%] of true-positive rate. |

Dynamic analysis of the spinal-pelvic motion match during feline galloping for speed increase into quadruped robotic system |
Young Kook Kim, Jongwon Park, Byungho Yoon, Kyung-Soo Kim, Soohyun Kim(KAIST, Republic of Korea) |
we observed a significant increase in speed through correlated angular rate changes of feline spinal motion. To support the motion into a quadruped system, the hindlimb stance phase was analyzed using a 2 dimensional planar dynamic model to verify that the external torque generated by spinal motion plays an important role in increasing the ground reaction force in the direction of movement. To verify the analysis, the dynamic simulation demonstrating the hindlimb stance was applied with 3 parameter variations: time, phase and the amplitude of the fitted relative angular velocity profile |

Soft sensor design with state estimator for lipid estimation of microalgal photobioreactor system |
Sung Jin Yoo, Jung Hun Kim, Jong Min Lee(Seoul National University, Republic of Korea) |
Lipid is a useful bio-product that has many applications including biofuels and bioactives. However, improvement of lipid productivity using real-time monitoring and control with experimental validation is limited because measurement of lipid in microalgae is very difficult and time-consuming task. This study examines applicability of various nonlinear filters (EKF, UKF, PF) for online estimation of the lipid concentration in microalgae cultivation system. |

Optimal Design and Operation of an Extractive Fermentation Process for Continuous Biobutanol Production |
Boeun Kim, Hong Jang, Moon-Ho Eom, Jay H. Lee(KAIST, Republic of Korea) |
Biobutanol is considered to be a promising choice for renewable fuel due to its high energy content, low volatility, and low water solubility. However, the production of biobutanol through fermentation is complicated by the fact that butanol inhibits the microorganism’s cell growth and therefore the butanol production when its concentration in the fermentation broth reaches a certain critical level. In order to raise the volumetric productivity to a commercially acceptable level, produced biobutanol needs to be separated out as the fermentation is on-going. In this study, a continuous extracti |

Development of CAD for Zone Dividing of Process Control Networks to Improve Cyber Security |
Hiroki Moritani(Nagoya Institute of Technology, Japan) |
Recently, cyber security becomes a serious problem for process control networks. When control system fails, it may lead to serious accidents. The authors had proposed zone division of process control networks to ensure cyber security and safety. To apply the method, it is necessary to build CE (Cause Effect) matrices which express the qualitative information. CAD (Computer Aided Design) tool for zone dividing is proposed in this paper. CE matrices are generated by using DAE (Differential and Algebraic Equation). The candidates of zone division, which can assure the safety, can be proposed. |

In this paper considered need of development of scientific and methodical base for creation of big systems is considered. Based on this methodology a large system of the next generation must be created. At present in all spheres of human activity there is a need for systems that can support or serve to activities of many legal entities, as a single-purpose system or a multi-purpose one. Moreover, these systems need to be not only just an integrated system, as an integrated system takes into account, coordinates and integrates only the resources but not the management. |
