The Application Methods of Wireless Technology for Operating Nuclear Power Plants

Songhae Ye(Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co.(KHNP), Republic of Korea)

Abstract: In order to use wireless communication technology during the operation of nuclear power plants, the technology's reliability has to be proven. The wireless technology being applied should not inhibit the safety functions of the safety equipment and the intended function of the instrumentation and control (I&C) system. The wireless technology does not support the safety operation of the power plants or their control functions. But wireless devices can be applied to improve worker efficiency and strengthen monitoring for the field oversight at operating Nuclear Power Plants (NPPs).

Implementation of Fault-tolerant Architecture for Central Data Processing System in Space Center

YONGTAE CHOI(Korea Aerospace Research Institute, Republic of Korea), SUNGWOONG RA(ChungNam National University, Republic of Korea)

Central Data Processing System(CDPS) in NARO Space Center plays a key role of real-time data processing acquired from several ground tracking systems such as tracking radar, ground telemetry station and electro-optical tracking system. The processed data by Central Data Processing System is used for flight safety monitoring purposes and target designation of tracking stations on initial locking on launch vehicle or tracking failure. In this paper, we described about operation concept of Range System, the configuration, autonomous/manual failover architecture and test results of CDPS.

Applicability test on black-box testing tool of railway signaling system in consideration of the convenience of use

Jong-Gyu Hwang, Jong-Hyun Baek, Kam-Mi Lee, Hyun-Jeong Jo(Korea Railroad Research Institute, Republic of Korea)

In accordance with the increase in importance of software within railway signaling system, risk costs due to the software error are increasing too. Accordingly, software validation in various aspects is required, and the needs for supporting tool which can automate it are raised. In Korea, the black-box testing tool of railway signaling system taking into consideration of the convenience of use which was developed to solve demerits of existing commercial tools was proposed and developed recently. This tool is an approach which generates test data on the basis of the international standard test

Global Dynamic Neuroadaptive Tracking Control of Strict-Feedback Systems

Jeng-Tze Huang(Chinese Culture University, Taiwan)

By mainly using the multi-switching technique, the author has proposed a neuroadaptive backstepping controller to ensure the global tracking stability of strict feedback systems recently. However, the problem of exponential growth of neuron numbers with the dimension of system states has not been solved yet. Regarding this, a dynamic neural network approach is proposed here to alleviate such a difficulty in this paper. The concept is simple in that only those neurons nearby the current state are activated for compensating the unknown nonlinearities and hence the number of activated neurons is

Part-based Face Detection using SLBP

Jeonghyun Baek, jisu kim, Euntai Kim(Yonsei University, Republic of Korea)

Face detection is one of the important issues in Human Computer Interaction (HCI). In face detection, Local Binary Pattern (LBP) feature is popularly used because of its invariant for rotation and lighting condition. In this paper, we propose part-based face detection method using Skin-Color LBP (SLBP). The proposed feature SLBP shows better performance than LBP because it contains not only appearance information but also color information. And we enhance detection process by limiting face search area based on head-shoulder detection results. Experiments are performed with INIRA dataset.
